Well, it's that time of year again! The kitchen smells of Christmas biscuits, the houses are decorated with twinkling lights and people gather in the town to drink Glühwein (mulled wine).

I would like to wish you all a very devious Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

Yes, you read that correctly - yours truly is getting married! The wonderful mcbastian is going to make an honest woman out of me

The date is yet to be confirmed but we've planned it for late August next year so we can still enjoy the Olympics and the Euro 2012 tournament

I'll try my best to avoid turning into a Bridezilla, but I won't make any promises

Ah, Carija. The woman, the myth, the legend. She tagged me in her journal so naturally I had to fill this out!

Here are the Rules:

1. I have 8 scars on my body, 7 of which are on my right hip and the last one is on my bottom lip.
2. I was very geeky in my school days, so much so that, when I was 15, I was chosen (along with 8 other geeky classmates) to partake in a 'Curriculum Enrichment Programme' held by the University of Liverpool. The programme was aimed at 18 year olds. We had to build a website from scratch.
3. And geeky enough to have had one of my poems published and won the 'London Junior Poet' award in 2000 for another poem.
4. I have never owned Lego
5. Every time I sit in a plane, and at the precise moment the plane takes off, I think of my family and all my wonderful friends, especially the ones here in Germany. I don't know why. I do it without realising.
6. I've never climbed a tree.
7. Ich bin verliebt
8. I still cook some cakes using imperial measurements. This is because my Grandma taught me how to bake them.
9. I can't pronounce the word "Brauerei", although I can say "Brau", "er" and "ei" quite easily.
10. I know the words to the 'Unser Sandmaennchen' theme song.

I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Eat too much, drink too much and definitely have too much fun!

I would also like to say a big thank you to everyone at Plauderstunde for being fantastic friends, for helping me get through tough times and for aranging brilliant devmeets. Without the Plauderers, I think I would have left Germany long by now.
